Default STi5 Type R clutch?

What size is the clutch on the STi5 Type R? I've seen 225mm and 230mm diameter clutches and want to know which one is right? Will a standard Borg and Beck clutch take 318lb ft or do i need an uprated clutch. Also is there a guide for doing the job yourself anywhere?

Zippy, The clutch is a 230 mm and I'd recoimmend a performance clutch with that sort of torque. The problem with standard clutches is, that whilst it might take it Ok, if it doesn't and you send it back under warranty, it'll likely get thrown out due to ' being abused'.

Exedy organic performance from APi; including the thrust bearing £320.00 plus a bit of carriage and then VAT for Mr Blair. In stock and WILL take a lot more power than you are talking about.

Call me if you want.

Exedy is a good choice there.

Zippy walkthrough on Scoobymods. Personally I would remove the engine to fit the clutch doing it without ramps. Quicker and easier. But then you also need an engine crane!
