Default remapping necessary?

I just wanted to know if it's necessary to remap the car after every perfomance addition.

e.g. upgrading the exhaust to a free flowing 3'' decated exhaust system

also what exactly is being done when u map the car for UK spec fuel and what is octane rating..here our highest is 90 i know this is low but how badly does this affect power?

i was at a rr the other day and a JDM evo 7 was there it did 280whp and 240lb ft torque on the 90 octane....the addition was a new garret turbo running 15psi of boost. stock internals

the tuner says in stock spec it will put down 230whp, whats the stock hp for the STi version 7 jap spec at the wheels?

90 thats going to seriously affect your performance, and health of the engine more importantly, if its not remapped.

What car are you using? If its a euro spec (97 ron) then im pretty sure you will see piston detonation as the ECU wont be able to correct for that low grade of fuel. If thats the case then each mod will make the problem worse.

Can you get ECUTEK remap's out there?

o i dont own it just want to know what to do when i get one...there are many scooby, evos and other jap performance cars out here u know and they are running fine and many a modded.

i asked the the questions(s) because i see here that ppl are always mapping jap scoobs for uk fuel but i doubt we do it out here in JA maybe some do but i know most ecu tinkering is done when goodies are added.

do u guys map all imports for uk fuel?

there were other questions in my post so anyone is free to answer thanks in advance

with so many of these cars out here and in apparantly good running the 90 doesnt seem to affect them

Hey,

I think there is a little misunderstanding here......you guys have 90 octane in Jam, which is about 95 - 96 RON.

Cheers,
