clutch noise - help
Guys,
For much of the time, the operation of my clutch is fine. However, every now and again and mainly on longer drives, I get a squeaking/groaning sound developing when I operate the clutch, both when I push it down and when it comes up. Once this noise develops, when I push the pedal down slowly I can feel it isn't smooth. What could it be?
I've tried oiling the rod from the clutch pedal that goes through the bulkhead into the master cylinder, but this had no effect. I'm fairly sure the noise is coming from the engine bay. Is this likely to be a component within the gearbox, perhaps something in the operating cylinder?
I am considering taking the master cylinder apart to check it, since others have done this.
Any advice?
Thanks
David
