Default Dump Valve Question.....

Hi,
Got a forge dump valve on my scooby Sti Ver III, im un-sure wether its an atmospheric or re-circulating dump valve, i think its atmospheric, but on the end of the dump valve there's a pipe which connects back to the engine i thought this was for re-circulating ones only.....
Cheers for any help

The atmospheric dump valves also give off the whoooosh sound when releasing the pressure.

Both types have a pipe connecting to the inlet manifold, the recirc has a large pipe connecting to the air intake pipe, don't be misled, you could have either based on what you have said.

after looking at it, the forge DV has holes all around it, which i associated with Atmospheric one, and a small pipe to the manifold, but when i change gear it doesnt seem loud enough to be an atmospheric one (barely any noise from outside), Im not bothered at all about the noise factor!! just curious why it sounds like it does shoudnt it be louder??...
thanks for everyones help

Just double check to make sure both pipes are not connected. If it's an atmosheric one, one pipe should be blocked off with a bung, but visable to see. I have a Forge DV on mine, and it's definately hearable.
