Default Had a very odd gear box thing today...

Driving with the wife and kids (so being quite sensible) down to Newbury today I had the geaar box go very notchy in all gears at a roundabout off the A34. After visiting my Dad it was fine all the way home. I had this happen a year ago but just in third on a very hot day.

Is this a bad sign? I've just ticked over to 86,000 so the gear box oil is due for changing at the 90k service, would it be worth getting it in for a change now and use a good oil?

Fingers crossed it's not in need of a new box! Had a new engine ony a few months ago.

New oil and have the clutch fluid drained and re bleed using DoT 5 or 6 brake fluid.

New oil always good, check the plug for nasty metal bits (!), fluid DoT 5 more heat resistant.

A gear box that goes notchy and then sorts itself out is most likely down to the clutch rather than the gear box itself
