Carlos,
Two of Andy's 18g's are being mapped by Bob on the 12th March and then on the Tyne Tees Scoobies RR Day on 20th March.
Should have some results published shortly after

My car's being sorted late Friday for a Saturday Bob Rawle maping slot
I got my APS FMIC from e-bay.... Very cheap but BIG, BIG, Mistake !!
The FMIC looked like it had been on a bungee jump..........without the ropes attached !!!! never again !!
Olly sorted repair / pressure testing / and Recon .......
I would have been better to get Olly to source a new one.....

I mapped the car quickly, as the customer didn't want to spend too much money and within 2 month he will have a FMIC and I have to retune again.
The car was mapped between 11:1 to 10.8:1 AFR, so quite rich and not running much advance.
Boost 1.25 until 5200 RPM 1.2 bar @ 6000 and 1.1 @ 7000. The car was a Eurospec MY99 with standard air filter and filter housing, GT Spec manifold, std. TMIC and 3" exhaust (HKS silent version)
The 18G can deliver any boost you want before 3000 RPM in 5th gear! During mapping with a bit too much wastegate dutycycle I reached 1.35 bar @ 2900 RPM in 5th!
A lot more power can be made with this turbo @ higher boost, leaner AFR and a bit more advance!
I like it really much in combination with the TMIC! Very responsive and nice power.
Mark.

thats a great appraisal Mark!
makes it all the more exciting looking forward to getting one now, do you have any idea about peak boost these units will allow and what IDC's you had on those 600's please?

David,
Even I was pleased with the result! And I absolutely didn't push it! It's a VERY nice turbo for a 2.0 Subaru, for normal (quick!) road driving. There is a very wide useable powerband with this turbo. However it has it's power limits! (and no boost creep....)
Peanuts,
I think this turbo can make a lot of boost in the midrange, 1.7 - 1.8 bar should be possible. I won't recommend that because at high revs boost will drop quickly and you get a sort of TDi feeling......(a lot of torque and not a lot of top end) If I remember correctly the IDC were around 70 - 75 %. (a bit under 15 ms opening time@ 6000 RPM)
If you want a turbo with good spool up which can produce decent power, don't wait any longer and buy this one. I map about 150 Subaru's a year and I didn't saw anything that combines responsiveness, power and spool up in such a way! Spectacular for a turbo which is designed LONG ago.

As soon as I get them in stock they are sold out again ! Each time I have wanted one for my own car but they have gone straight away.
Ah well, more time to play with the TD04 hybrid I'm developing, 330+bhp with 1.5bar boost from 2500 anyone !!!

Andy - please do tell me more
This sounds like it could make one hell of a fast road car with boost at such low revs.
