Angry bloody exhaust hangers!

yup you guessed it- the salt on the roads and quite a few *cold* brrrrr starts has resulted in one of the hangers coming away from the pipe and now a nice £2 coin sized hole exists with a fecking great leak..

any ideas if it's worth my while to ask H+S to do me a replacement Stainless Steel pipe? or might I just as well bin it?

****!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It will weld up

just weld a patch over and then weld the hanger back on

is that still the case now you have seen the photos?

I remember some time about 18months back when I was @ TSL that MaTTel had a similar problem with his HKS...
Trouser sold him another entire exhaust IIRC ..

any thoughts on if this could have been caused by a MASSIVE pothole I hit recently on the OS - the OS front alloy is buckled on the inside edge by it!!

damn dark country lanes and no decent road fixing policy

Chrome

That will weld

If a muppet can be sold an exhaust because of a little hole then good luck to em but i would get that welded

It looks to me as the weld that holds the hanger in place has failed i have it done several times on exhausts and doea not cause a prob

re the pot hole lets just say it probably help with the failing of the weld oh and it should cost no more than a tenner to do if it stainless steel

Using Mattel & TSL as an example is like using Posh Spice & GUCCI - they don't need any excuse to part company with their cash.

Just weld the ****** as suggested

If you need it welding give me a shout.. (id prefer it off the car though!)

That part is mild steel on the HKS hipers anyway!

Deffo mild steel.. even if it were stainless.. you could weld it with mild steel mig wire.. just the weld would rust eventually!..

looks at picture... thinks of a couple of jubilee clips and a thin metal plate..

Hope sorted soon..

Seen an Apexi with similar on the hanger connected to the silencer.. H&S sorted that one out.

Beer can (empty), heatproof gaffer tape, few exhaust clamps and a few old coat hangers....sorted!

Normally use this tactic on the likes of bangers. but there's always a first for scoobies

I did indeed have the same issue with the HKS exhaust.

In fact when it was taken off the car I has a look at it was personally responsible for increaing the hole by a good six inches in length.

The pipe was pitted and paper thin.

Graham and Trouser both tried to sell me a MY01+ exhaust system that has come of Graham's car at a reduced price.

It was my own insanity that took hold and went for the full new system, new fuel pump and ECUTek remap...

It was the second time a hanger on the HKS had failed some months ealier the hanger on the back box gave way... later models came with extra support at that point!
