Recommend a good wideband lambda and display
Hi,
I was thinking about getting myself a wideband lambda sensor and display, maybe one of the digital displays and having it in the car to see whats going on. Have you got one and if so how much and what's it like?
In the end I would like to try mapping myself and would like to use it for this.
Where would it be best, In collector of gruppe-s headers or downpipe of aps exhaust, not where normal one is it's lower down, just before centre pipe joint.
Thanks
George

I recently purchased an innovate motorsports LM-1:
http://www.innovatemotorsports.com/products.php
VERY pleased with it and seems very good VFM. Can be hooked up to an analogue display also or dash mounter (though not too stylsh looking still better than knocklink..
They's also soon releasing a didigtal item which may be more what yer after if you just want to display...

George,
Most of the self mappers on here and 22B use the TechEdge WB (www.wbo2.com), when purchased in kit form is exceptional value for money.
If you are interested let me know as I get discount (I've just imported 6 v2 kits for 22B members with good savings on shipping as well as my discount).
I can also help with building if you need
As for location, in the downpipe is best as the extra heat in the headers will shorten the life of the sensor (although the Bosch LSU4 is cheaper than the OEM narrowband).

Hi,
Thanks for the replys, had a look at all of them.
What sort of price is a pre-built 2A0 unit
Bosch sensor
LD01 display
All required cables
I was planning to have it in the car and leave it there using it as a more accurate lambda link type thing and possibly in future try mapping myself.
This looks like it would do the job nicely.
How much can be saved by building it myself? it does look a bit complicated, not tried anything like that before.
Thanks
George

TechEdge if you only require a display, Innovate item if you want to hook it into EcuTek products. Note that with the Innovate you will need to insulate the sensor from too much heat in high boost applications (or move it further down the D/P).

you would do better to get Andrew to order it and build it for you for a fee assuming he is willing as this would be cheaper than the prebuilt..
It depends on current exchange rate but I think around £250 would see it all in and ready to fit in the car maybe less.. but you would need to talk to Andrew on the current prices and stuff.. mine has been in the car nearly a year with the VW sensor and touch wood is working very well indeed
a credit to Andrews soldering skills.

Is that including a reasonable display??
the LD01 is not exactly beautiful but that volt meter style thing doesn;t do it for me either..
perhaps my pricing is out of have innovative dropped there prices?? I know it was more when I sorted mine a year ago.

Approx £200 but thats with the display in the handheld box so not the sort of thing you would mount on the dash
There is a 52mm dial about to be released for it.

The innovate unit isn't the same as the TE 2A0/2B0 units which have RPM and Aux input functions built in, the equivalent Innovate unit is over £300 before postage and duty.
If you want a fully built AFR only unit then with the exchange rates as they stand the Innovate is cheaper. Interested to know why it can be used with ECUTek where the TE can't?
George, drop me an email if you need any help.

EcuTec supports the linear 5v output of the Innovate, the TE unit requires a univariate polynomial (or at least my one does) I use the TE for Apexi tuning and the Innovate for both Apexi and EcuTec.
