Default turbo boost

Boost controllers which 1 how hard to fit and how much extra boost can you expect to run on a standard uk classic no other mods ?

What sort of extra bhp we talking and is it a good idea or not?

I would'nt run anymore than 16PSi without extra fuelling mods. You really ought to be monitoring AFR and det at this level anyway.
Obviously you should have some sort of boost gauge to monitor for overboost etc...

You ought to notice an increase in power, although the TD04 kind of feels like it's running out of puff at the top end of the rev range anyway.

A "Profec B" is probably the easiest one to fit and setup, although boost control is not the best with this unit.
I have found the Apexi AVCR to be the best at fine tuning the boost.

cheapest is the dawes device - £30 quid. You can only go as far as the fuel cut anyway. Best running a knock link though. It £130 yes but it could save you a £2500 rebuild! Not sure of bhp increase. What classic do you have?
JDM or uk? saloon or wagon? year?
When i used a dawes on my 96 wagon it felt like an extra 20 bhp. But the best bit was the spool up.
