Hi guys,
Just got a couple of questions for you. In the near future I will be getting a manifold that holds a MY97 and upwards TD04L for my Starlet GT. Now I was just wondering if any other impreza turbo would fit, say an STI one? I also need a rather quick spool time as it's only a little 1.3
.
Cheers,
Dave.

I guess the td04 will be too big for a 1.3 - I doubt it'll start making boost until after 3k5, maybe as late as 4k. I'd suggest starting with something smaller.....but yes, you could fit a larger turbo from an STi and have a spool point past your redline somewhere ![Smile](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/smile.gif)

I'm not certain how a Subaru manifold is going to be any use to you what so ever. The only part that may help you, would be the flange on the top of the up pipe, which you could use to help fit the TD04.
Like Richard, said, any of the Subaru turbo's will fit the flange, and whilst they are designed for a 2.0lt, if you can keep the manifold to turbo very short, lag may not be too bad.
Mark.

Cheers for the replies lads!
The guy I am in contact with makes a manifold for the Starlet to suit a TD04L turbo. Everyone who has purchased the kit so it is surprisingly responsive with the TD04L with boost hitting hard around the 2200rpm mark. They have also been proven to make 200bhp atw.
Some pics of the manifold and clearance here:

As you can see there's not much room in there but I was wondering if you thought I might be able to get a bigger variant of the TD04L in there without sacrificing the responsiveness.
Cheers,
Dave.

I have put on a TD04 from the a my99 on a 1.6ltr corolla AE86 and i makes 1bar around 3k rpm,so it could be bigger without problems,(8k rpm limit)but for now i´m keeping this as it is, it´s for a driftcar and it´s great that it spools so early
