Question EGT sensor

I buy a EGT gauge and I would like to install it. I would like to know where you normally install the EGT sensor in the exhaust????

Some people say that should be fitted behind the Turbo (more or less like the lambda sensor) other say in the uppipe others in the headers...............I just do not know!!!

Help please!!
Regards

Subaru put them in the upipe, though when modifying cars with full systems etc its best in the downpipe where it runs cooler, it cost me 5 in as many months with the sensor in the upipe, now relocated & no issues since......

Whereabouts in the downpipe do you put it? Is it near where the lambda goes?

Thanks,

Damian.

Not far from there though you are governed by the length of the probe & how far it will stretch..........I'm lazy so no re wiring for me

I'd rather have it in the collector or up-pipe, that's where the temp matters. After the turbo it cools rapidly so you'd be getting a falsely low reading.

Default exactly

was gonna say the closer to the turbo the better as this gives the real temp values not a cooler value, especailly if your using anti-lag???
