Default Rear differentials diferencies (GC8 type R and type RA)

Which diferencies are between rear differentials type R and type RA?

I assume both are mechanical LSD units, but Type R is R180 and Type R is R160?

Is this only difference or I forgot something?

My 1997 model year Type RA came with a 4.444 Rear Diff fitted with a LSD. The diff is a R160. I think the R180 can have the same ratios but is physically bigger for Group N homologation and very heavy use.

only the very early type rs had r160.

but in truth there is no real way of knowing.

I have yet to see an sti type r version 4 5 or 6 with anything other than a plated r180, but some type RA v lims do seem to have R160 and abs, especially the earlier version 3 cars.

Cars with a dccd seem to always have R180 rear diffs and no abs.
