Will my P1 run lean after fitting STI panel filter

Hi
I have just fitted a STI panel filter from scoobymania into my P1 .Will the car run leaner as it lets more air in or is it ok to leave it alone?

I would have thought that seeing as the P1 is basically an STI anyway it'll be fine, I'm sure the electronics will look after it!

I fitted one a few weeks back and seemed to be getting a bit more activity on my knocklink than before so I took it back out. I'll try it again when I know I've got a good tank, as I sometimes get the odd yellow light with the paper element when I get a dodgy tank of optimax.
If you've got a knocklink, just keep an eye on the lights for a few days and you'll know soon enough.
