No.
No need for the dumpvalve, or bleed valve or boost control among other stuff. Two filters?
No expert but i'd be looking at -
Full decat, up pipe, panel or induction filter(either), fuel pump, injectors, TD05 turbo, samco hoses and a TEK3. Probably 300 - 320 there.
The TD04 you have at the moment may run out of puff before you hit 300

My recipe would be:

Full de-cat single box system (your choice depending on volume and style)
TD05FE
uprated fuel pump and regulator
STi panel filter
Remap (Bob Rawle for example)

That should see you around the 300bhp mark.

From your list I would forget the following:

K&N Induction Kit - too much heat soak
DV10 Dump Valve - no advantage
Bleed Valve - doesn't offer enough boost control
Fuel Cut Defender - can be done as part of your remap
Bigger Scoop - nah, just looks silly
Close Ratio Gearbox - won't do anything for power, although maybe consider a 6 speed if you're going for more than 350ft/lbs

Consider the following:

Bigger injectors
Ported and wrapped headers and up-pipe
Front mount intercooler

Then you'd be in 330bhp territory safely.

Both!!

Im doing this next month (going over 300 that is) but mines an 03, but the principles the same.

You will need a better turbo, up and downpipes, fuel pump and reg, knocklink and ideally better intercooling. Hoses are a good idea but im not 100% sure if they are essential. Oh and a tek3 of course

I have full samcos :P so im ok

Neil.

Dunno what the bugs and blobs are like but it's a known fact that the intercooler hoses on the classic suffer when you increase the boost

I'm running 15.5 psi on a 100,000 mile classic on original 10 year old hoses and don't have a problem

SBR-GT10 is a very nice looking turbo, I have something similar in a -11 cartridge with a larger compressor wheel and cover, and it does about 450 BHP on Optimax, the GT10 is supposed to be 400 BHP. But to me the spool up is only acceptable on this size of turbo on a 2.5 for fun road use. The GT10 will be a bit better, but could really do with a short geared engine that revs to 8000 RPM with bottom end and valvetrain/cams to suit from my guess at how it will deliver power compared to my slightly larger version.

I daresay if you fitted this and just remapped you would easily get 300 BHP, but it would be laggy especially without breathing mods.

The more elegant method is to keep the TD04, accept that you will probably get 280-290 BHP and free up the breathing. You'll have an unstressed gearbox friendly car that has been quite cheap to mod.

Well, being as we are on the subject then, what would i get from this if i uprated the injectors next and then had another remap:
MY03 WRX, uprated fuel pump, decat up pipe, sportscat downpipe, decat centre, sports backbox. TMIC is standard WRX one, Turbo is standard so i assume TD04.
I would have thought for me to break 300 bhp i would need both turbo and injectors?
Currently my car is 270 bhp and 265 ib/ft, this was from rolling road test.

MaDaSS,

You don't need to uprate your injectors to break the 300bhp barrier, but you will need to uprate your turbo (Possibly TD05FE). IMHO

Question and now for something completely different...........

...cue music...........

well slightly different

How about a Blob STi

How far can we go reliably without increasing lag more than improved PPP mapped lag - base car will be std STi, -- 05 import considered if engine any better

Would love around genuine 350 lb ft with sensible cost upgrades - ie if 340lb ft cost £800 and 355lb ft costs £3000 - I will get buy with 340....

I am surprised you have put WRX at over 300 - how far will STi go reliably for under £2k mods - I appreciate TSL T333 is an option - althogh I have heard a few reportts at it not being quicker than PPP and someone tested one apparently at c 300 bhp...

Is a 350 x 350 practical anybody?

I run a Bugeye MY02 at 300 plus BHP as a daily driver,

not only that I actually get to own it in 2007 so I have followed the trends to try and get a reliable motor (thanks to Ninnybobs, Harvey, John Banks, Andy F and.............Bob Rawle's gold dust)

Here is my recipe for 300 plus bugeye

TD05 front entry conversion turbo
STi 8 tercooler
Samco Silicon hoses
Sti Pink Injectors
FSE fuel pump
FSE fuel pump regulator
3 port boost solenoid
EcuTeK 3 Custom re-map by BRD (Bob Rawle) 1.38 bar max
Ported and wrapped OEM headers
NGK PFR7b plugs
full de-cat
K & N filter

extra 10 BHP for a pink badge !!

Does this help??

Midlife....
