STI Panel Filter Instruction Sheet?
I received an instruction sheet, in Japanese, with the STI filters I ordered from Japan Parts. It seems to have specific instruction item 1 through 13, and I see it also mentions something about 10,000 and 20,000 kms. Has anyone had this paper translated or know what it says? I can't beleive it would have to be changed avery 10,000 or 20,000 kms.
BTW, this filter actually makes quite a difference.
Any help appreciated.

I'm in the same boat. TBH I'm not even sure which way up it goes! I presume the STi logo faces upwards. Could you confirm? I presume that the same inspection/replacement procedure as in the UK manual would suffice. Someone did tell me once it had to be replaced every 10000miles (so I ordered 2).

hi, just fitted my sti filter into my my00 turbo. i just indid the two clips and unhooked the right hand/ lower end.
it was a bit of a bu99er to get it back on again, i had to undo the two jubilee clips on the large pipe bit, (you can see i'm technically minded ) and after freeing the middle bit of the pipe it was easier to hook the lower end and redo the clips.
i'm sure there's an easier way.

ps it does feel a bit faster, but how much of this is psychological i don't know.

I used exact same method as mw2655.
Not a lot of performance difference although you can the air intake a lot more now.

I find it far easier to just undo the 2 jubilee clips holding the rubber air intake pipe, remove the rubber pipe altogether. This makes removing the lid to the airbox easier. You can then fit the STi filter (make sure its a nice snug fit) and then refit top of airbox - remember to use the locators on the lid to clip into place with the airbox. Close the lid and the metal clips should locate and click into place without too much effort. If they are very difficult to clip into place then the lid is not seated correctly. Once done you can ease the rubber intake pipe back into place - retighten clips and reconnect the charcoal cannister pipe. Job done.

Foam side (or STI logo) facing upwards. Should take minutes to swap over. Just make sure the airbox is secured properly when re-fitting, especially the bottom end is hooked under properly. You don't want it sucking in unfiltered air.
Just give it a good pull to make sure it's all secure and it'll be fine. You're likely to cause more damage to the MAF by dropping the airbox if you're not careful
Did mine on Sunday before I drove down to Leeds and literally took 5 mins.
