Question TEK2 remap, can my car 'lose' the map?

not the best title description, so i'll try to explain.
when i had my remap done the car boosted to 17 psi max, all fine and dandy.

now it only hits 15 psi, almost 16 if i'm lucky.

why is this? to be honest i wouldn't say the car feels slower, but why an almost 2 psi drop?

maybe current heat, but it's been like this for a while now.

before i make myself look like a muppet to the mappers, has anyone got any advice? maybe people who have had this map done tell me if their boost fluctuates with the weather?

just worried i've wiped the map somehow?

cheers

Mine is similar. MY00 with panel filter, open neck downpipe, centre cat, Magnex box and TEK2. On a motorway run will hold 16psi on WOT from just less than 3000 rpm on, but if I give it short bursts of WOT (duall carriageway with loads of roundabouts) will peak at 18/19 then drop back to 12 and fluctuate 12/15. Doesn't hit fuel cut-off, so I am assuming the ecu detects some det and knocks back the ignition consequently reducing boost? I haven't got a knock-link (might be a good idea if I had). After running around town for a while boost seems to drop to 12/13psi and needs 'pursuading' back up to 16 with sustained WOT for a while. Is all this normal? If it is det, what can I do about it? Always run on Optimax.

I've got MY00 full de-cat exhuast, K&N Panel and TEK2 mapping. On WOT from IIRC 3rd and above it hits bang on 16PSI, never goes over and only once registered a red light on the knocklink but that was a seriously hot day.

I would imagine any probs would be heat related. MY00 ECUs are supposed to be self learning but perhaps a reset might sort any problems?

Resetting ECU won't lose TEK software - I've asked that before

hoskib. Try flooring it in say 3rd around 3,000RPM then hit the rear heated screen button so it is `on`. Sounds really daft i know but i think u will notice the boost go back up and it pull better! Let me know if it works!

really? how's that work then? worth a go i 'spose

cheers for all the replies guys, i've recently reset the ecu when i fitted a new MAF and no difference. i'll give it the once over for leaks, but TBH i wouldn't really now exactly where to look, but i'll check all the pipes i can see.

i think it dropped the boost when i fitted a firestorm in place of the magnex that was on when it was mapped, the change won't make any difference map realated, but maybe the firestorm doesn't flow as well as the magnex?

only a RR power run will answer that one i guess!

if you have changed the exhaust since the map it will affect the performance, ive changed mine since my last map and gained more lag thats due to a bigger bore backbox.

mines a bigger bore too (tailpipe that is), can't say as i've noticed it being laggier, just the 1 psi boost drop. i guess all exhausts have different flow rates, i just didn't know magnex were that good!

as i've said, the car doesn't feel too much different, does anyone know what sort of bhp/torque drop losing 1 psi will make?
