MY94 Uk, Syncro on 3rd & fifth are dying. What is the best route purchase a 2nd hand unit, getting it uprated enabling use of the car still (if so who to uprate ?) Be without the car & get my current box refurbed which has done well over 100,000 miles ??

Car was last dynoed at 311 Bhp & 272 Torque, will be having the andy F Apexi treatment soon so even more pain for the box.

I have also been offered an RB5 Box will this be a straight swap , I.e no flywheel swapping.

Check out API, you sound like you definately need it uprating, just changing will add to another gearbox a few months down the line.... (check out the UK300 gearbox thread )

Other than a Dog Box gear set, can you 'uprate' a 5 speeder?
An alternative is an STi box. (you may have to change the rear diff too)
