Default MAF sensor assembly

Due to the extortionate price of these new (MY97 - about 250 notes apparently) I was wondering whether or not it's worth risking purchasing second-hand?

Comments please.

for the newer shaped cars you can just purchase the MAF element rather than the whole unit , the element is £70 I would always buy a new one of these, for the earlier cars you have to buy the whole assembly and part with £250 odd quid so risking a second hand one is sometimes the more cost effective option. But if you buy new its got warranty, second hand doesnt
