turbo oil bleed?

turbo oil bleed?
I have been told by a turbo specialist that when changing oil, I should make sure oil is to the top of turbo (plastic bag round pipe) and crank engine till oil is there. Replace pipe, then do the same with bottom pipe. Have I been given the right information guys?

turbo oil bleed
Ahhh! I did'nt prime the new filter full of oil when I did the oil change. I have a screech noise at about 3800rpm on my95wrx import. Would not priming the filter cause air blockage so affecting oil pressure to turbo Del?
Cheers.

The filling of the Oil filter and priming of the system prior to starting is mainly for the benefit of the 'big-end' shells and 'main bearing' shells. AFAIK a slight interuption of oil feed to the turbo at idle is unlikely to be detrimental to its bearings - would be a different story if the turbo was boosting (High RPM) as damage would be very likely.
