Default TURBO LAG??

Can anybody tell me if a different exhaust can increase turbo lag? I had a 3 inch revolution system including downpipe and replaced the centre section and back box yesterday with a 3 inch titanium system. I have removed the bung and it seems to have increased lag?
This may just be me being paranoid but because i am not mechanically minded i am not sure if it has increased lag. I would appreciate it if anyone could shed some light on this. Cheers.

depends on the mods to your car...................however it is possible to have an exhaust that is too "free" flowing, lack of back pressure can cause a loss of power same as one that is too restrictive!!

Have to agree with what stockcar says - need some back pressure, or the lag increases hugely!!

My decat scoobysport system decreases lag by quite some amount!!

There was a bung supplied with the exhaust, have to try this to see if it does anything... Thanks for the replies.
