I think that it probably would not 'fit'. The issues would focus around the electrical side, the ecu and such like.
If your engine has gone bang, then contact APIDavid at API Engines and he will give sound advice for you.

it would fit but would be a pain in the *** with that many things needing changing
yiou would prob be better off having your old engine rebuilt ... chris

Blimey mate! it was stripped while you wait and could have been put back together while you wait. BUT if we do that, how can we justify our labour charges?. If everyone finds out that you can get head gaskets done inside an hour, by a top mechanic, PLUS free coffee, PLUS the undivided attention of the MD for the cost of an hour labour, we won't be able to drive about in new cars all the time any more.
We're the 'poor' maligned worker bees we have to bee [sic] nurtured.

Oh, alright then.
Just that I'm bored not having the engine back...I miss those evenings with a zillion pipes and wires.
It took me 7 long hours to get it out and stripped, and us Porsche guys work very slowly (as you say), so I need the 3 weeks to get it back in (and polished).
It was pretty amazing how your man got those heads off that quickly!
