Question oil temp sender popsition

Hi
Im hoping to fit Blitz dc oil temp gauge tomorrow and read a couple of threads saying to position it under intercooler using blank provided over cylinder3.
As many threads have siad not to use this as have said to use it.Some say not correct oil channel to read correct and others say its fine.Ive already taken the blank out and suprise suprise the Blitz temp sender is a smaller bore and thread size,so it means finding somewhere who can sell me a blank with a smaller threaded bore inside it.
Or is there another position to try to fix it.My99 being used.
Regards
Gene
