just got a boost gauge

my car is a MY99 uk spec imp turbo with a full decat. boost figures as follows:

0.6 in 1st
0.9 is 2nd and 3rd
1.0 in 4th.

all peak obviously.

does this sound about right?

It should be aiming for 0.9 bar. If it settles and holds that when pulling WOT up a hill in 4th and 5th then its right.

so the lower 0.6 bar for 1st gear is normal? it does not hit 0.9 in 1st.

you wont hit as much boost in the lower gears cos the load on the engine is lower, the turbo intake/boost source will be lower.
