Default Panel filters

Thinking of upgrading my panel filter to an STI or maybe an MRT, can anyone give me advice on which is the better nd what increases I can expect to gain.

go for the sti one

any filter that is oil/gunk filled "may" cause maf failure the only sure way is to get an Sti one which has no oil on it

all IMHO of course

but the sti one's have been shown to get as much as 10bhp increase iirc

gone from green to STI and there is a difference.

The car feels a lot "less fussy" when on WOT.

Cheeper too through japanparts.com

Hi there.

I had a look at the STI panel on the Japanparts website, and wondered if that is the exact same filter that comes standard with a MY03 UK STI?

If you decided to remap the ECU (nothing too mental - about 310 to 320 BHP), could you keep the STI panel filter installed and expect just as good a result as, say, a green filter?

Having read about possible MAF sesnor failures with green filters, although rare, I would still a little bit worried about it happening!

Thanks
Jas.

I'm using an STI one on an my04 sti and it didn't make any noticeable diff but will probably stick with it now.

I did use the MRT one on an MY01 WRX and it didn't "feel better" and alter the sound (nicely). however, the MRT one did leave some gue in the airbox that I cleaned from time to time....although never caused me any real problems.
