car wouldn`t pull u out of bed
I`m after some ideas from the technical guru`s on here.
I`ve got a 93 wrx with scoobyecu, grp n panel air filter, decat centre pipe and some unknown make jap back box. When i first got the car it pulled like a train and ripped right up to redline in 2nd and 3rd, now it won`t boost past standard 0.8 bar (0.9 in 5th) and feels as if its being held back at high revs.
It seems to struggle getting anywhere near 7k rpm even in 2nd and its gutless on the m/way in 5th. There is no misfire, plugs are gapped at 0.7mm. I`ve checked and cleaned every little hose and pipe i can see and made sure they`re all air tight. changed the fuel filter. It shows reasonable boost on the guage but still doesn`t seem to pull. I`m stumped now and just a little fed up. Thinking along the lines of ignition not advancing properly or low fuel pressure but just thinking out loud really. Anybody got any other ideas.
cheers in advance.

Unlikely the restrictor would need changed it if was fine before surely?
If you suspect fuel press get it checked out, if the press drops off to much and it leans out..... 'pop'
If the fuel press was dropping lightly, the ecu would detect the knock and start to pull back the timing to correct it, assuming the '93 ecu has this facility.

I'm sure you know already, but be careful and keep a close eye on the boost if you're going to run it with the wastgate disconnected.
My fuel pressure was dropping off a bit before the regulator threw it's hand in, at idle and cruise it ran a bit richer than normal. Don't know why this was.

`i`ve taken the scoobyecu out just out of curiosity to see what the standard ecu will boost to. only getting 0.6 without scooby. Gonna just clamp off hose to wastegate for a short test drive. see what happens. Think i`ll leave scoobyecu out until i get to the bottom of it then lob it back in.
