Question Black smoke?

Getting some black smoke on heavy acceleration (when car has warmed up) as seen from a following mate in a scooby (cue Dougster). The back of the car gets a lot of crap stuck to it from the exhaust area too.

My question is, it sounds like overfuelling but is this a bad thing to have?

Many thanks
Stuart

Yes, it's a bad thing to have...there's a likelyhood it's washing the oil off the bores, causing premature wear. You're looking at a blocked air filter or an ecu fault as a couple of possible causes....more info required really though, you know, just the details, like maybe, model, year, mods, mileage, specific circumstances and conditions under which this happens, etc, etc,.....anything at all to go on that might generate a bit more interest from others....

MY96 Sti 2, scoobyecu, panel filter, full decat, uprated fuel pump, uprated FPR (running 3.2 bar with hose disconnnected), 65,000 miles, happens when warmed up and under full bore acceleration. All fluids were at the correct levels and i had a full tank of optimax too.

Hope that helps

Fair enough, from the tone of your post I was imagining huge clouds of the stuff, for some reason....they are known to run rich at high revs, so I'll stop worrying you with worst case scenarios. As for the crap stuck to the back of it, try washing it more often.
