Broke my gearbox. getting a legacy biturbo one

A friend of mine can get me a legacy biturbo gear box.
Any refference of it.

Should fit, pretty much the same box as the uk turbo impreza.

As far as I know they are identical to the Impreza's of the same MY. I think the MY97-98 far different final drive and gearbox ratios from older and newer MYs. You will need to check the front diff ratio before fitting. If its from a wagon then there is a possibility that the front / rear torque split will be different (mine measures 40:60 for some reason).
