Question What is the Rev limit set on a UK MY97?

Now I know where the red bit is on the gauge thank you very much

And I don't really go round bouncing off the limiter as there is no point in doing so, unless I get some unintended wheelspin. And I don't really look at revs that much (having too much fun sliding)

But I had a glance the other day and noticed it momentarily peaked at a shade under 8000rpm I was just about to change gear anyway, but thinking about it, it never cut out on the limiter.

I thought the rev limit was set about 7500rpm. Or is this continuous Rpm and it's allowed to go slightly higher intermittantly?

Either that or my rev clock reads high
