Decat centres Vs MOT station
Recently had the centre section replaced with a non-res decat version - will I need to replace it come MOT time or am I safe enough to clear the OE one out of the garage?

It's an MY00 - there's still the cat in the downpipe - and I'm not intending to replace that.
Centre section and backbox are an Hayward & Scott.

Yeah, it'll fly through an MOT with the DP cat. That's soooooooooooo restrictive
Mine passes easily with just the centre cat. I've even had it pass with a full decat, but the OE centre sat on the tailpipe and the emissions probe in the other end of it

Dave,
the STi PPP kit fits a sportcat downpipe and secondary cat. The next centre section with a resonator silencer is left is place, hence the exhaust note is pretty quiet.
Any Scooby should pass the emission test with only a sportscat downpipe. With a de-cat downpipe and secondary cat in place then it's marginal whether it'll pass and then it's the hassle of swapping out the DP if it fails.
In my view the sportscat DP is the best option and unless your aiming for figures in the 400bhp bracket the sportcat DP will not be detrimental compared to a full decat DP.
With garages charging upwards of £100 to fit a DP it quickly makes sense to go for the more expensive sportscat at initial outlay.
