Question Exhaust wrapping - why do it wet?

Any reason other than stopping the fibres getting everywhere?

Thanks

shrinks as it drys, it's also much more plyable when wet

thanks Paul.

The wrap I've got is very flexible, like rope in fact. My problem is I want to fit it and paint it tonight, don't think I'll have time if I have to wait 'till its dry before painting.

Edit to say its the stuff from Proven Products.

also stops the fibre glass dust and prevents itchy hands (but where displosable gloves also helps prevent this)

the shrinking of the wrap as it dries is the best bit. All wrap is flexible, but around tight bends where you want one side to go round a tighter bend than the other, making it wet really helps.

If I were you, I would exercise some additional patience and do the job as best you can.

Wrapped it wet. Doesn't look half bad for my first go, painting it lunchtime instead

Doesn't stop the fibres getting everywhere LOL

Thanks for the advice
