hi idle and revs droping very slowly

hi idle and revs droping very slowly
on my 97 version 3 jap import sti once ive bin for a good drive when i press the cluch to change gear the revs take ages to drop and it idles high at around 1200 rpm. once its bin off for a while its ok but starts again when ive bin for a long drive again. please help

reset the ecu, my 97 wrx did this when i first picked it up
reset the ecu and its been fine ever scince, i put it down to the diffrent grades of petrol that had been put through it (importer put sum normal unleaded in it
and i used optimax on the way from his premises about 2 miles away)
100 run to 95 ron to 98.6 ron, no wonder it was facking confused??
anyway, sorted mine out a treat
