Default Idle problem after changing dump valve... Anyone?

Hello All

I bit the bullet today and removed my HKS SSQV dump valve from my FMIC. (hated the noise on light throttle)

I did this by removing intercooler pipe that goes to throttle body and removing Dump valve and welded a 1 inch hose connector to it, I made sure the pipe was clean inside and refitted. then I fitted a Forge Motorsport Re-circ dump valve with blue spring as standard. (The SSQV was fitted with a re-circ adaptor).

The dump valve is working fine and I am getting just one whoosh now.. which is what I wanted.

The problem I am having is that when coming of throttle and putting clutch down at lights etc, sometimes it is stalling or dropping down to 100-200rpm and then settling at 900RPM. It doesn't do it all the time but it is very annoying.

Have tried ECU reset and still the same.

Anyone have any ideas??? Car was running fine before dump valve change...

My Car is
MY93 WRX JDM
HKS FMIC
HKS Powerflow Intake
HKS 3" de-catted Exhaust system
VF34 Turbo
Z4 ECU

Fit a stronger spring? Sounds like DV is opening due to manifold vacuum.

Hello ticky

Got it from here :
http://www.funkyproduct.co.uk/item.p...tTypeNumber=76
Quick delivery etc

Now back to my idle problem.

Got red spring today which is stronger than one I had in there. Still the same, So I fitted a spring shim, then another ... it was better, then another and another and hey presto it come down to idle perfectly now.. But the dump valve now makes the same noise as my hks thing did on light throttle.. shoosh then dub ba dub ba dub ba dub ba afterwards.... Also does it at max pressure goes long shoosh then bud da da .... If you know what I mean

Is this because the spring is so tight all the air doesnt go out in one go, the dump valve quickly opens and closes??? i have a FMIC does this make a diffo to dump valve operation/noise??

Think I may just block up recirc hole into air intake housing and just fit a Forge Dump to Atmos 2- piston jobby, This would stop any idle problems deffo wouldn't it.....??

Anyone
