Urgent FCD help needed please!?
I fitted a HKS FCD today to a 95 impreza. The unit has just four wires, Power (Red) earth (Black) and signal (white and yellow). The unit is wired in correctly, however on start up the check light stayed on. Testing with the good ol meter showed the map sensor signal going into the FCD yet not coming back out and therefore the ECU seeing no MAP voltage at all! As soon as i take the FCD out of its series form of connection and reconnect the wire as standard the check light goes out! Any body experienced this before?! Also i checked the resistance across the FCD through the white and yellow wires and found open circuit, surely this cant be correct?!?
Cheers in advance.
Gareth.

Hi,
I had this problem with mine, I ended up curing it by giving the Fcd A permanent live & not an Ignition feed Live. When the engine is being cranked an ignition feeds power supply is momentarily interupted, Notice your stereo Etc goes off when cranked .. This makes the Ecu see a fault & illuminates the check Light ...

ign at a guess..
but I wouldnt recommend FCD's
Theres a reason why some remaps only run to around 16psi.

The HKS FCD needs a permanent live feed (with a low amp in-line fuse) for the reason DeanF touched upon.
As David said, be careful what you set it to...
