Default AP Clutch

Any good and nice and easy to use? Not wanting the paddle clutch or anything as its a daily driver.

Anyone got one of these fitted?

i have had the lateral performace cluthch and flywheel and i cant recommend them enough! rally colin from thames valley motorsport put it in and mark from lateral supplied the clutch it was a organic uprated clutch and lightened and balance wheel, there wicked nice easy action from the clutch no judder and better response in pulling off total cost just under £900

Rob,

I remember Steve McCulloch had a paddle clutch on his car and took it off soon after fitting it due to being undrivable.

In that I mean needing 4k revs or something like that to move it without stalling.

Amusing watching him get it onto the rollers at Well Lane. lol!

Damian.

Hi Damian,

Hope you are ok. Well mines on its way out. A standard one would last me about six months with the new turbo and bits that I have had fitted. Noticed an article in this months JP mag which pretty much confirms they are a nice bit of kit and suitable for what I want. Agree the paddle clutch would be far too aggressive.

Think I'll go for one in the next couple of weeks and post my results.

MPeart-Get this months Japanese Performance. They road test the clutch along with the fly wheel on their "Project WRX". I think the pulleys etc can wait for another day. Cost of clutch about £411.00 plus I'd need the bearing as well. (another £50.00 or so).

Regards

Rob

I had a Helix organic fitted last year at powerstation. The Clutch was £411 - about £700 all fitted. I have had no problems - judder completely gone, etc. I was told it was good for 350 -400bhp

I had it on my previous car (350-420bhp depending on map) and I was happy with it. For the next car though I will go with twin plate exedy.

I have the AP organic, very light and smooth but with as quicke more assured takeup than the OEM clutch with no judder, my std clutch started slipping simple due to torque from 4000RPM in 3rd/4th/5th, AP is coping fine so far.

Prosport fitted mine for about £650 inclusive, but I think the clutch kit has gone up about £30 recently.

Andew...
