Default Hybrid Required, but not for my scoob !

Hi,

I know this is a bit naughty as it's not for my scoob but for my Fiat 20VT.

I need a new turbo and I want to go the hybrid route with the following spec -

360deg Bearing
Total loss oil seals
T28 shaft
60trim comp wheel
Cut back turbine blades
Gas flowed
Uprated actuator

I was wondering if anyone on here could point me in the direction of where to go. I have a couple of places to try that I have got from the Coupe forum but want to make sure I get the best deal.

Cheers

Clive

why that spec specifically? Given that the 60 trim t4 wheel will surge badly on a 2.0, and roller bearings would be better all round, why not go for a Garrett GT25/30

Default Hybrid

Paul,

I am not expert, just going on what others have fitted to their Coupes. As I'm sure you know standard is a T28, the hybrid uses GTI-R internals. I pressume from what I have read that this is the best way to keep costs down etc.

Garrett GT25 should have the same ex housing, and can be specced up to 440hp. Depends what you want, but I think the move to a ball bearing (not roller bearing) core is worth while. Cost is going to be more, but then you get what you pay for.

I would save a little longer personally and go the GT route.

You can probably get one from the US for about £800, or in the UK from somewhere like Turbo Dynamics (Dorset) for a little more.

Possibly less if you have the smaller frame version without the large GT30 compressor cover.
