more power out of my wrx?
i own a MY98 wrx and am very happy with the power but with all the new cars out like the M3 etc 276 bhp and 240 lb torque doesn't seem so impressive! so what's involved to get between 320-350 bhp and around 300 lb torque and what sort of money are we talking? also is this sort of power realistic for the car i own and will anything need upgrading?
any help or info will be really really appreciated

**** me where do you start. dawes device with knocklink, lambdalink, boost gauge will give you the most bang for your buck. Adding an open necked downpipe like the hayward and scott will allow the car to rev more freely. with an increase in boost to just under 1.1 bar that might see you to about 300 bhp.
Any more than that then realistically (read to be mega safe) you will need to spend money. having said that RICH WILD has a nice machine with about 350bhp still running on standard internals.
increasing boost to gain bhp is easy but you want your car to be safe. engine rebuilds are expensive (ask anyone on here with >350BHP). uprated internals like forged pistons, conrods, cylinder heads, throttle bodies, camshafts, bigger turbo, bigger injectors, intake manifolds, FMICs all cost a load of money and if you ask ppls on here who take thier modding seriously i doubt they could give you an accurate figure on how much thier own car has cost them over the years. needless to say lots.
hope this has helped
cheers
big sinky

You will need to look at your clutch and gearbox if you want a safe 300lbs of torque, we know for sure that they will suffer as the 5 speed is an old design and not the best box in the world.....

the amount of sti owners i have left on the drag strip pays testament to that
i had no problems fittign the sti front spoiler and pink badges because its more then fast enough to wear them imo lol

The cheapest but an effective option would be to fit a Dawes Device, another option would be to fit an Electronic Boost Controller. When raising the boost it would be advisable to fit a Knocklink
