Gearbox Problem really really confused now..
Posted a little while ago regarding the syncro third to forth.
Now I am really confused.
Basically when going for a blat and changing third to fourth there is a strange grinding sensation through the gear stick (as if the cogs aren't sincro'd), no noise. And....it only happens when the car is hot (I drive to work 80+ miles e/w and it starts after 30miles or so). Just come back from such a blat as fitted noisekiller in boot (Firestorms are damn noisey) and the changing was fine.
What is wrong. Took it to dealer for service and told them, they checked and said that they could find nothing wrong.
Oh.. I have just had a decat TSL + firestorm fitted. The downpipe is not lagged (more fool me), will this affect the temperature in the gearbox and hence problem....
Please help I don't want to start shelling out cash on the wrong cure.
Cheers

Got exactly the same problem except mine is 2nd to 3rd. I am going
to try some redline shockproof oil (£60ish) and if that doesn't work I'm going to leave it until the gearbox fails and then pick up a 2nd hand gearbox. I'm not spending money on fixing my old box....

Think the oil is in for a change.
Spoke to a freind who has a Caterham and she says gear selection is a nightmare after a track run, chaged the oil and voila no problems.
