My00 jumping out of 5th gear??
Hi All,
One of the Impreza drivers here in Denmark have a problem with the car,itīs jumping out of 5th gear........and before you all says the locknut on the rear of the gearbox...then this one is tight,and have not loosent up....
Anyone know what else can course this???.

But you can drive in 5th gear,and select it without any grind,but when it has been in 5th for a while it works out to neutral....

What makes you so sure it isn't the loosening locknut Skassa, have you stripped the box and checked it? The way you describe it working its way into neutral sounds exactly like this problem...

The guy who owns the car and another that have had this problem took the rear of the gearbox and checked if the nut was loose and it was not loose,so i hope that they made sure that it was on tight
I will get them to check again,but i donīt think thatīs the problem.
