Engine Hoist/Crane Specs. Will this do?

I certainly know that a mate of mine uses a very similar version to this, which works fine with subaru's. Ask Pavlo, i think they used it to pull an engine out of his once?
It sais 1 ton, and the engine certainly doesnt weigh that

A 1 ton crane would be sufficient for a scooby engine, but dont forget about the lifting strops you will need to attatch it to, the hook wont simply lift on the inlet manifold, as a reminder, you will need a trolley jack also, so you can support the gearbox whilst removing and also on refitting, it helps to keep the box in line with the engine on refit.

A new hoist like this will do the job well, if it is a bit knackered it will drop on you as a hired one did on me with the 911 engine/box on it (well less than 1000kg)
They are not so expensive from Machine Mart, delivered and with a (limb saving) warranty. Invest and be sure....
