Default Going to TD05 - Gearbox gonna be dying?

I just sent a cheque to John Banks for a FE TD05 he's selling for my 99 classic, now i'm concerned about gearbox mashing, is this really an issue? Jason at scoobysport reckons car will be in the 320-330hp territory.

I was reading some threads and people seem to say its 3rd gear that goes, is it a foregone conclusion that i'll be buying a new gear box if I stick this turbo on?

Torque kills gearboxes not power.

If your aiming for 320lb/ft as well then you should be OK.

My clutch/box was OK at 1.35bar until I fitted an FMIC and headers.

think luck of the draw is right, mine has been ok so far but i do drive with a bit of mechanical sympathy, think this goes a long way to keeping it together.
i also use good quality oil and change it regulary.
