Has anyone here had the Powertrain equal length header exhaust manifold fitted to their WRX MY03 PPP? If so, please tell me the improvements you have gained, pick up from how many revs, is acceleration quicker, etc. Thanks!

i ve got the ps headers, only do it with a ecu remap or its not worth it (from reading what people have said about these headers) with a ppp, im sure Bob Rawles charges £400 for a tek 3

i put them on as i wanted a uppipe, and when I took this in to account the headers dont cost that much

I had 260 bhp and 270lbs on there rollers which i was chuffed with ( other mod include a sports cat downpipe,hks hiper, green air filter and ecu tek). If this don't sound good take a look at what others get on their rollers or even better put yours on

the sound will change, forget the scooby rumble, I think it sounds like a rally car most think it sounds like fiesta, but thats just me - if you live near the Worcester area pop down to a meet and I will gladly show you

last thing, if you do get it done make sure they wrap the headers, they don't like doing it but if you keep on at them they will, it doesn't cost that much

mines a my02 wrx so we are quite simular

Rich the price you have heard is for a remap which means you already have a licence. A "virgin" car would cost more of course.

Thanks, thats why I was asking specifically re a PPP WRX, I paid £1600 for a PPP which is an ECU remap amongst other things. I really dont want to re-remap my ECU, Powertrain said I would still get the same improvements and feel as a non-PPP car would have. I just wanted to know what the car was like to drive WITH the modified exhaust header in comparison to WITHOUT the modified exhaust! Thanks for your help anyway :-)

look for a post by trout, im sure he had a ppp classic and after the headers he lost power (on the rollers which could mean nothing), cant remember the full story

im no techi but im sure the oe ppp map would not be able to adjust do this on its own and so not getting the full effect (assuming the headers give simular gain), Im not sure and some one who's in the know would have to confirm

Bob, Im sorry I was under the impression that when you buy a PPP you would have the Licence for the ecu tek - see shows, you shouldn't listen to me

I have been told since I ve had them I would have been better saving for bigger turbo / injectors - and maybe they are right

if i was going to lose my warrenty for one mod it wouldn't be a set of headers

Rich, the PPP are "licence sealed" so if its further upgraded you have to start from scratch.

If you fit headers to a PPP'd car then it_must_be_remapped as the headers will dramatically alter fueling and would/should allow more timing to be used.

Remember the PPP is designed to suit a particular configuration of mods on "any" car of the type.
