Well, when the connector on my MAF came off (broken clip) on my MY97. It was terrible.

When it made any sign of going on to boost it did a severe kangaroo impression (fuel cut). Just about driveable off-boost. But forget using the turbo.

I would say it' not very healthy for it at all. The ECU is very dependent on the MAF sensor.

It wouldn't be particularly advisable on a UK car, let alone a JDM...

If you absolutely have to, then keep the revs low and don't use boost, so the ECU can run off it's lambda readings. Assuming your lambda's ok...?

I tried it, and filled the whole street with black smoke - lol

I didn't like running the car like this, let alone driving it

It`s your Lambda sensor that`s gone - Pillock - and you have been driving round for the last three months with it gone so a few more days won`t make a lot of difference. What makes you think your MAF has gone ?

the AA man
the AA man may know less that you!!

I've had cases where the AA man has told someone the engine is knackered and needs rebuilding when all was wrong was a dodgy plug lead

Hey Type~~R, I owe you an apology. We have Sub TypeR and Type~~R so a case of mistaken identity. Sorry for calling you a pillock. The other one has been driving around for a few months with the lamda u/s. I removed SubtypeR's lambda on Saturday, it was shot and there was no thread on it or the hole in the downpipe. Rectifying the problem this Saturday. In the meantime the lambda is tied in position with wire!!!
