Default Oil capacity on MY03 Sti

Hi,

I´m on my second oil and filter change at 8.000 km and this time (as before) the oficial subaru dealer has used 5.3 liters aprox. Since is dificult to me to read the oil "rod" when the car is warm because it allways appears atained of oil I can not verify the level whem warm.

So any one knows what is usually the quantity of oil used on an oil and filter change on a MY03 Sti?

Dealer charged for 4.5 litres at first service, I supplied 4.5 litres for 10k service. Oil level was correct.

Beware!!! The oil capacity is exactly 4.5 liters. You can do a lot of damage with so much oil. I would go back to the dealer and have it pumped out and not accept any arguments against it. To check the oil on this car can be tricky some times - thats maybe why mechanics have a habit of overfilling them. Make sure the car has reached operating temperature then park it level. Wait at least 5 min. Pull the dipstick out, clean it reinsert it the pull it back out right away fast enough but without jerking it (the oil seems to have a hard time sticking to the dipstick). Check it at least three or four times to get a good reading. Do not overfill!
