Ive just picked up my 03WRX with prodrive spoiler and OZ alloys 6500mls, thing is it has a standand to be replaced zorst... As i have just shell out some serious dwain eddies for this and have a family to support, squeezing another 1600 quid past the missus is going to as hard as finding rocking horse s**t....
so naturally a new back box and say an ITG filter is first on the menu....
so which zorst is best, and which isn’t gunna give the dealer kittens if i take it back in for servicing or warranty issues??
Advice?

There's a lot of controversy surrounding the ITG filter at the moment. many are blaming the excessive oilyness for a spate of MAF failures. If it must be cotton gauze, Green & K&N are favoured, or preferably the STi paper element.
If money is tight, have a look in the for sale section on here. I've seen lots of Prodrive PPP backbox's being sold as people upgrade. Otherwise, the box of the moment seems to be the Afterburner Vortex IIRC.

from what I can remember Prodrive parts are the only ones that will be OK with warranty, though some dealers will turn a blind eye , might not be worth risking it though if the thing goes pop !

Got a Prodrive B-Box put on my MY03 STI
Much better than the standard zorst, nice burble and plenty loud enough for me!
It also looks less "in your face" as the Afterburner, which I personally prefered.
Anyway it's down to personal taste in the end m8

sounds like a prodrive is for me then... less hassle with warrant issues too. My mate has a STi PPP and the burble for me is liveable... out and out noise (if this is what you get from a Afterburner) is not for me either.

I did see a post some where about the local council pusuing some one for a LOUD exhaust. At least the Prodrive box is e. marked so you wont have a problem with that and it has a nice burble, you wont be able to hear it three miles away but it sounds 'proper' if you know what I mean. Some of the other non e. marked items can be a bit neighbour upsetting..............
Just a personal opinion............

My Prodrive 'box upsets my neighbour. But he is a 37 going on 72 old before his time boring luddite dullard whining wingeing sanctimoious moaning tw@t. But my 'box blows directly onto my 6 foot wooden gates when it's on the drive so it does revurberate a little ![Big Grin](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)

Go Afterburner Vortex....you wont regret it especially at 4000/5000 rpm. ![Big Grin](https://www.scoobynet.com/images/smilies/biggrin.gif)
It isn't that loud on tick over.....only on full boost does it roar like an F16
So when you creep home late at night you wont upset the neighbours.

Jas03 WRX - I've got a Prodrive on mine and it makes a lovely burble and really freed up the engine above 4,000 rpm. No warranty issues either!
15mins to change.
Required =
4 bricks / Trolley jack.
Bottle of fairy liquid for the rubbers
Socket set / Ratchet spanners.
I did mine in the dark and it still only took 30 mins.

I wouldn't waste money on the prodrive system it may sound a bit better but the power increase is very limited compared to other systems available.I had PPP fitted from new but was sorry I had after later relacing it with a Milltech system .I've not come across any evidence that dealers have a problem with non standard exhausts afterall how many people have replacement exhausts fitted by dealers when the're knackered, it's a consumable and they go to kwik fit. Next time your at your dealers check in the car park you'll find standard or prodrive systems in the minority I'd bet.
