Question Boost Limiting all the time - any thoughts??

The car is an MY96 with full de-cat/filter VTA dump valve, Dawes, AFR, Boost Gauge.

The other night while leaving a few of the local likley lads in RS Turbo's and Cossie's behind got a few instances of fuel cut. ( It was a very cold night so I thought the dense air may have raised the boost a little). The next day I could only boost at 8 PSI, I checked the Dawes and found a persished hose from the dawes to the turbo nipple, replaced it but no change. Removed Dawes and now boost reading 6 PSI. All the time the AFR is reading green at WOT and fluxuates between red and green under light acceleration (normal I believe).

Any thoughts/remedies?? I was thinking maybe the Boost solenoid was dirty, but also read somewhere about the breather system blocking up sometimes.

Cheers

Ed

If the dawes is bypassing the boost control solenoid, then it won't be in limp home mode. Limp home is controlled by the boost solenoid.

Sounds like the Dawes vlave may be jammed up or the actuator/wastegate is stuck open.
