Starting problems when warm..HELP PLEEEZE!
Have had the Scooby for many years now, and trouble free until a couple of weeks ago....I guess it was only a matter of time...
Took it for a short (5 minutes tops) drive, left it for 30 minutes, came back & it wouldn't start - turns over OK, but will not catch. Can hear the fuel pump going when the key is turned. Has happened three or four times so far. Crank it over several times, and it sometimes starts. Otherwise, have just left it for a couple of minutes & it then starts.
Tonight it did it after a long (40 minutes) run. Pulled into a petrol station, fillled up, paid, went to start & ..would not catch. A tad embarrassing...can just hear all those people -' they're meant to be reliable them Subarooos...'
Anyway, anyone got any ideas where to start - the nearest dealer is hours away, and assuming it is something relatively simple (sensor connection or like) I am more than willing to get my hands dirty...any advice would be welcome.
Robs
p.s. Does anyone ever find themselves looking at a car getting rapidly smaller in the rear view mirror, grinning & muttering to themselves 'you've just been Scoobied'..? Happened to me just a couple of minutes before the bugger wouldn't start tonight..maybe it's trying to tell me something..
