Default help choosing exhaust and air filter

could you chaps help me in choosing between a blitz nur spec r or a hks hiper flow? both cat back both about £480 fitted. i want abit more performance and a great sound, but nothing too deafening. i have jap imported v7 sti. also should i get one of the cats removed(i don't want a full de-cat for mot reasons.) if buying a secondhand exhaust i have been told that the uk ones will not fit the imports,is this true?
i would also like to get a blitz sus air filter fitted but i have been told by 2 performance garages not to fit them as they will blow the air regulator and are not safe fit only a panel filter. 2 other garages have told me they are quite safe to have fitted.obviously my head is up my **** can you lot help.
thanks for all your help!

If you want more performance from your backbox you might want to take a look at Scoobyworlds Afterburner Vortex. I'm well impressed. Awsome sound too.
