Default Oxygen Sensor on Downpipe - is it needed ?

I am attempting to fit my downpipe at the moment (MY95WRX) and am having problems removing the old oxygen sensor from the old pipework. Basically its just seized up with rust and will not budge. There is a hole for it in the new downpipe I have.
Question:- Do I need the sensor in the new pipe or can I get away with just blanking off the hole. ?

Thats not an oxygen sensor. Yours will be in the header. The one in the downpipe is a temp sensor and no you dont need it. I just used a broken spark plug or a lambda sensor in it..

Lol now thats what you call lucky. But if I were you, why not buy the blanking plug from TSL? Thats the proper way to do it. Don't copy me, I'd stick the car together with duck tape if I could.

Shouldnt be. Just check your headers if you see a sensor there. Or someone could've moved it there because truthfully, its a better place to mount it.
