Default Downpipe 3" or 2.5"

After making the decision to join in on the ECUTEK group buy, (MY99). I thought that it would be best if I removed the Cat's. I have tracked down a downpipe and Magnex resonated centre section on SN.

The downpipe is a 3" SS from JP Exhaust, am I going to have problems mating this to the 2.5" Magnex centre? I have been led to believe that it will fit, or have I made an error?

Will the 3" downpipe give better performance over the 2.5" with the TEK?

Thanks

Duke

You may get it to fit not sure without looking, but you will have a big step between the two diameters, not good for flow as it will cause more turbulence.
Best to have a matched diameter all the way through really.

Most aftermarket systems follow the standard setup (2.5") but when adding the downpipe its usually a 3" downpipe that tapers down to 2.5" where it meets the centre section.

Just go for 3" all the way after the turbo you want zero backpressure so bigger the better

I've got a Pat spec 3" downpipe into 3.25" system made by hayward & scott

Their own standard syetem is basically the same as scoobysports system or you could have the Xtreme system with interchangable tailpipes

If only want a downpipe, just go for the hayward&scott 3" to mate to your 2.5" (get the splitter put in too for better spool)
