Which exhaust for torque ad bhp
#1
Which exhaust sytem is best for MY94 WRX. Got 26b2hp and 250lb of torque on rolling road, I have had a dump valve and K&N fitted since, but want dp and exhaust to give more power and torque, want it to sound good but don't want it to sound like a dragster. any ideas??????????

Go for Scoobsport or Scoobymania
I have a bpm - but that would be too noisy for you (so dont think about Blitz/hks or Mongoose either)
any decat free flowing system should produce bhp and torque gains - mostly torque lower down the rev range - as far as peak bhp goes there will be some improvement - but this will be marginal
Contrary to some magazine commentators ideas an exhuast will not increase peak bhp by 20-30hp!

I know of a few UK cars, getting over 330bhp & 280lbft with different exhaust systems!
One runs a full HKS system and the other runs a mish-mash of Scoobysport and Magnex stuff.
Similar performance figures, but different ways of achieving the power.
The way I believe it 3" systems (such as the HKS) helps achieve top end figures, but 2.5" systems (such as Scoobysport and Magnex) help with mid-range figures. I'm not really mechanical, but I sure someone could help further!
Not all free flowing exhausts are noisy, but it's just a case of listening to various options.
Hope this helps
